For 9 years, I avoided Gurren Lagann — its memories were too tied to the son I never got to hold. For 20 years, I carried the silence where my brother’s laughter once lived. This year, I faced the anime again… and found Simon’s journey mirroring mine: grief carving resilience, loss teaching us to cradle love even in emptiness.
